Key Features

• Specifically for CPVC Pipe: Chemically compatible and specifically tested for use with BlazeMaster®, FlowGuard Gold®, and Corzan® CPVC piping systems. This ensures proper adhesion and prevents degradation of the pipe or sealant.
• Intumescent: Expands when exposed to heat from a fire, forming a char that effectively seals the opening created by the melting or burning CPVC pipe.
• Water-Based: Easy to apply and clean up with water. Low VOC content.
• Non-Sag: The sealant is non-sag, making it easy to apply on vertical and overhead surfaces without dripping or slumping.
• Fire-Rated: Provides fire ratings up to 2 hours in accordance with ASTM E814 (UL 1479) and CAN/ULC-S115 standards when used in approved systems with specified CPVC pipes.
• Smoke Seal: Helps to prevent the passage of smoke and toxic gases through the penetration.

• Sealing annular spaces around CPVC pipes in fire-rated constructions.

Installation

1. Ensure the surfaces of the CPVC pipe and the surrounding construction are clean and free of debris.
2. Cut the CPVC pipe to the desired length.
3. Apply a bead of Metacaulk® BlazeSeal sealant into the annular space between the CPVC pipe and the edge of the penetration. The amount and depth of sealant required will depend on the pipe size, wall/floor thickness, and the specific UL listed system.
4. Tool the sealant to ensure complete contact with the pipe and the surrounding construction.
5. For larger annular spaces or specific UL listed systems, additional sealant or other firestop materials may be required.
