Key Features

• Highly Intumescent: Expands significantly when exposed to heat from a fire, forming a robust char that seals the penetration and prevents the passage of flames and smoke. Expansion begins at approximately 250°F (121°C).
• Non-Sag: Easy to mold and apply by hand to both horizontal and vertical surfaces without dripping or slumping.
• Re-enterable: Allows for easy removal and re-application when changes or additions to penetrants are required, making it ideal for areas with frequent MACs.
• Easy to Install: Requires no mixing or special tools. Simply mold the putty around the penetrating item and press it into the annular space.
• Cost-Effective: The re-enterable nature can reduce the need for new firestop materials during cable or pipe changes.
• Tested for Various Penetrants: Classified by Underwriters Laboratories (UL) for use with a wide range of penetrants, including:

Installation

1. Select the appropriate amount of putty based on the size and number of penetrants and the size of the opening.
2. Clean the surfaces of the penetrating items and the surrounding fire-rated assembly.
3. Mold the putty to fit snugly around the penetrants, filling the entire annular space within the penetration.
4. Press the putty firmly into place, ensuring good contact with the penetrants and the surrounding construction.
5. Ensure the putty is flush with the surface of the wall or floor assembly.
6. For larger openings or specific applications, additional putty or other firestop materials may be required as specified in the UL listing.
